UMJ Adds Three New Doctors

Muhammadiyah University Jakarta has increased the number of new doctors. They are Ir. Nelfiyanti., ST., M.Eng., Ph.D., (FT Lecturer) Anwar Ilmar Ramadhan, Ph.D., (FT Lecturer) and Dr. Dr. H. Zainal Arif, MA., (FAI Lecturer) officially received his doctorate after an open promotion session was held from two different campuses.

Ir. Nelfiyanti., ST., M.Eng., Ph.D., earned a doctorate in Manufacturing and Ergonomics, through a dissertation entitled Effect of Quick Response Manufacturing Towards Ergonomics in Automotive Assembly Line . Many assembly workers in Indonesia and Malaysia use humans as the main source of energy for the success of production. Based on observations made on industries in Indonesia and Malaysia, there are several factors that cause workers to experience complaints or pain during the work process because the work process is not ergonomic, causing delays in completing a project. This became the background for Nelfi's dissertation research.

Anwar Ilmar Ramadhan, Ph.D., earned a doctorate in the field of Nanofluids and Heat Transfer through a dissertation entitled Characterization, Experimental and Simulation of Heat Transfer Performance for Al203-Ti02-Si02 Ternary Nanofluid With Insert. The research carried out is a refinement of the results of research that has been carried out while studying at the undergraduate and master's levels.

Through characterization, experiments and simulations, Anwar succeeded in creating a new nanofluid that can be used in the industrial sector, such as car radioators or as a coolant for other things. Anwar also plans to develop his research in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) to improve nuclear reactors.

Ir. Nelfiyanti., ST., M.Eng., Ph.D., and Anwar Ilmar Ramadhan, Ph.D., are lecturers at the UMJ Faculty of Engineering who succeeded in obtaining a doctorate at Universiti Malaysia Pahang with satisfactory results. Both of them also received scholarship assistance from UMP during their postgraduate education.

Meanwhile, Lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Religion, Dr. Dr. H. Zainal Arif, MA., earned a doctorate in the field of Al-Qur'an Science and Tafsir at the University of Higher Education for Qur'an Sciences (PTIQ), which is the second doctorate he has achieved. Through a dissertation entitled E-Commerce from the perspective of the Al-Qur'an and its implementation and analysis in the economy in Era 4.0, Zainal concluded that E-commerce based on the perspective of the Al-Qur'an does not prohibit any activities carried out in economic activities as long as they remain guided and do not contrary to the principles outlined in the Qur'an and Hadith.

Despite his illness for several months, Zainal remained enthusiastic and completed his doctorate with satisfactory results. In the near future, he also plans to submit a proposal for promotion to Professor level.

"Hopefully this can make us more creative, devoted, and of course more useful for individuals and society, especially religion," said Zainal.

To date, there are 230 lecturers at Muhammadiyah University in Jakarta who have received doctoral degrees. Hopefully in the future more lecturers will achieve doctoral degrees for UMJ to excel.
